Part II
Health Project
- Project Manager – 1
Qualification and experiences: The candidate should have Master’s Degree preferably in Public Health or other health related subject and have at least 3 years of experience of working in primary health care programme for disadvantaged segment of population. Must have excellent English and Nepali language, IT and communication skills. Must be able to produce high quality technical as well as narrative reports of the project activities independently.
Basic Salary and Benefits: NRS 63,000 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.
Responsibilities: The Project Manager will be reporting to the Programme Manager and is responsible for overall management of the project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring and coordinating with relevant stakeholders. S/he will be supervising project staff and frequently visiting the project areas. DAs and transport expenses provided for project area visits. A detailed job description will be developed together with the successful candidate based on the project documents.
Candidates with funding proposal writing skills will be given higher priority.
- Health Assistant – 1
Qualifications: Health Assistant Course passed.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience of working in clinical setting seeing patients, HMIS recording, reporting and documentation. Candidates who have worked with the government hospitals, PHC or health posts and having a good computer skill will be given priority.
Basic Salary and Benefits: NRS 29,515 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.
Responsibilities: The HA will work together with the government health workers in the respective health posts or health clinics. This will involve both curative as well as preventive health services. They will provide health education sessions to the beneficiaries of the catchment area of the health post / clinic.
- Staff Nurse – 1 (initially for 12 months with possibility of extension)
Qualifications: Staff nurse course passed.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience of working in clinical setting seeing patients, providing nursing care, providing safer mother hood cares, delivery services, new born care, HMIS recording, reporting and documentation. Candidates who have worked with the government hospitals, PHC or health posts, have received SBA training and having good computer skill will be given priority.

Part-III
Research Project
PHASE Nepal has partnered with MdM France (Médecins du Monde) in Nepal to implement an Environmental and Occupational Health Programme for Informal Waste Workers (IWW) of Kathmandu Valley. This involves working with a government health centre in Sisdol landfill site Nuwakot and two health centres in Kathmandu. Furthermore, this involves working with IWWs to encourage them to use appropriate PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and access health care services. PHASE Nepal is looking for the following staff member for baseline study, research and publications about the status of IWW, their access to health care and their behaviour on use of PPEs.- Research Coordinator – 1 (initially for 16 months with possibility of extension)
Qualifications: Masters Degree in Public Health or other health related field with clear evidence of training in research methods.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of research work experience with a successful track record of conducting and managing research, publishing or contribution in publishing. Extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods and familiarity with data analysis software packages is essential.

Responsibilities: The main purpose of this post is work closely with Principal Investigator, Research Advisors, research coordinators, research officer and project implementation team to conduct research into Environmental and Occupational Health Risk and Health Behavior of Informal Waste Workers in Kathmandu Valley. The post holder will have the following main job responsibilities but may be required to perform other tasks within their capacity as required.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Scoping review of policies and publications related to Environmental and Occupational health risk behavior of Informal Waste Workers.
- Design baseline study tools and pilot these tools for intervention part of the project.
- Conduct baseline study, analyze data and prepare baseline study report.
- Contribute in preparation of research proposal to submit to the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) for ethical approval for the research part of the project.
- Write research protocol and develop research tools.
- Train enumerators and pilot tools.
- Data collection and data analysis.
- Compile research reports with findings and recommendations.
- Organize dissemination workshops to inform policy makers about the issue.
- Write at least two academic articles to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mid term and End of the project data collection for comparison and for publishing.
- Participate in different forums / conferences to share the research findings.
- Knowledge of research design and implementation.
- Ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
- Demonstration of personal drive and self-motivation.
- Proactive and professionally confident.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
